Engineers Day Celebrated at Kollam

Engineers shall work for cost effective technology - Kollam Collector

The Kollam District Collector Er P G Thomas has said that the immediate challenge before the present day engineers is to develop cost effective technologies to utilise non conventional energy sources. The present methods of energy production are mostly with high carbon foot prints (CFP) and add much to global warming. Global warming, if continues un-arrested will cause lethal viruses which will conquer the earth.

Er S Rajendran the unit Chairman, in his presidential address recalled the unmatched position acquired by Sir m Viswesarayya in the history of building up of modern India. Engineers day is celebrated in India to commemorate the unique life of this great engineer.

Er K Radhakrishnan, former member (Generation) of KSEB, in his key note addess said that the main reason behind his success was the un-questioned authority given to him in implementing the projects. the authority came to him because of his non compromising integrity. Now a days engineers have lost such an authority and it has caused serious damages in our developmental culture.
Even pivotal projects of Kerala like new roads, power projects etc torpedoed by ill-intentioned groups and  opinion of the learned engineers go un-noticed. Engineers shall regain control over the growth of the country and integrity shall give them the moral strength for it.

Er G Manoj, Executive Engineer, Punalur called for a work culture among the engineers to cater the present day demands on them.
Er S K Yesodharan former general secretary of the Association called upon the engineers to demonstrate their unity to deal with the present day challenges in the developmental field from politicians, organisations, administrators  etc
